HP Mini 2140
This entry has been long overdue, but here it is now. I’ll show you several photos of my personal unit and some of my feedback. The specs part would be skipped since most of the review sites on the net have those already and being redundant would be that nice at all. Nonetheless, hope you enjoy.

The HP Mini 2140 has a very elegant look in its metallic body compared to its competitors which looks more or less like a plastic toy. It caused a little weight gain but the weight at all is not that bad, I can even carry it comfortably with one hand. If you find this netbook heavy, my suggestion is that you’d better hit the gym.
Battery life isn’t much though at around 2 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes using the 3-cell battery included.
An open look
The screen is nice… as long as you don’t touch it. The only problem I find is that the occassional fingerprints stands out obviously, all I have to do is avoid touching the screen (which is an easy task, BTW). I do not stick my face to the screen anyway.
The resolution is fine at 1024 x 576, no need to rant about it as I can see things clearly. I was actually expecting a lot worse but after using this for a while, I realized that some sites are just being a bitch when talking about the resolution.
The 92% keyboard size is good for its kind but still is not 100%. It took me around 1-week transition period to type flawlessly from a full-fledged laptop to the Mini 2140.

New Toy
I feel so lucky lately, (read: non-deserving ;p) for having my new toy in the form of no less than the ten-incher HP mini 2140. My previous laptop which served me for two years and three months which happened to be a 14″ Compaq Presario V3000 was still in top shape. I surely missed the screen real estate so I still use it somehow.
As of the moment, I’m still in the familiarization stage with this new toy. I’d hopefully get back soon with some photos since I’m still busy moving my “important” files from the old laptop. Hehe.
Baby Got Back
I just got back from the province for the holy week, well I haven’t been hanging around here anyway so it really doesn’t make any sense.
The holy week went on fine with me. Every year it seems to be one of the reunions of the whole clan wherein we get to see each other once again and spend days together.
Most of the time though, the cousins spend the carefree moments in the middle of the farm by playing cards, which I can’t relate to (or maybe a just a little) thus sparing me for betting around thirty pesos to a hundred pesos per round of a card game.
Even the drinking sessions at night turned out to be casino session. Oh well, we’ll see where it goes.
